Child Molestation Trial for Child Care Provider Begins
March 5, 2012 – According to reports the trial of an accused child molester by a child care provider is slated to begin. According to authorities the accused child molester Scott Andrew Christensen age 28 of Rancho Santa Margarita is facing three felonies in the trial that was slated to begin Monday.
Christensen is will also face sentencing enhancements for substantial sexual conduct with a child and could face 45 years to life, according to prosecutors. The alleged incidents occurred between 2000 and 2006, when Christensen was employed as a child care worker at an after-school program provided by Saddleback Valley Unified School District, called The Learning Connection.
According to prosecutors, Christensen allegedly assaulted a boy between the age of 5 and 6 on September 1, 2005 and again on August 7, 2006. One of the accusations is that Chirstensen touched the boy, while watching a movie.
Authorities stated another incident occurred between May 6, 2000 and August 1, 2004, during a movie when the lights were out. Christensen is alleged to have grabbed the boys hand and put it down the front of his pants.
Christensen was convicted in 2008 of two felony counts of molestation of a 6 year old boy, who he was hired by the parents to watch in their home and where the incidents occurred.
Opening statements in the trial were expected to start at 9:00 a.m. in a Santa Ana courtroom for the alleged child molester that is currently in custody at the Theo Lacy Jail.
